I live in the American Garden Buildings on West Eighty-First Street, on the eleventh floor. My name is John Sophminela. I am twenty-six years old. I believe in taking care of myself, in a balanced diet, in a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I’ll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now.
After I remove the icepack, I use a deep pore-cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a water-activated gel cleanser, then a honey-almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb mint facial masque which I leave on for ten minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine.
I always use an after-shave lotion with little or no alcohol because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm, followed by a final moisturizing "protective" lotion.
There is an idea of a John Sophminela, some kind of abstraction, but there is no real me, only an entity, something illusory, and though I can hide my cold gaze and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable: I simply am not there.
If you feel you are not "there", ask yourself "where" your are. Our bodies are just vehicles that carry our consiousness through this life, so your feelings of separation are natural. I’ve had plenty of times when I’ve felt "not there". But I always know WHERE I am. I recognize that I am an energy creature living in a physical body and my thoughts travel to that mindset.
So where is your mindset when you feel "separate" from your body. If it’s in a good, loving place, then I wouldn’t worry. If it’s not, see a doctor cuz it might be something physical in your brain, but I doubt it. If you can ask the question "am I insane" then you’re probably more lucid than you think.
Seems like you’re just very eccentric.. by the way, impressive hygiene ritual! Interesting that you take such good care of a body that feels so foreign to you – why do you think that is?

Put all the bright lights on. Helps to wake you (really worx!).
Deep breathing/yoga for five minutes. Wakes me up & centers me.
A glass of cold water. Helps to raises metabolism.

TTHSA – go to gym & do up to an hour of lifting/abs
Have a quick protein shake. Protein & sugar to aid in muscle repair & growth.
Shower, dress, makeup. To feel good & look pretty for work.
Then a real breakfast, a shake isn’t enough & off to work!

My skin went from really dry to really oily. Help!!?

While I was a smoker, my skin was excessively dry. I quit smoking two months ago and now my skin is excessively oily. Every day I drink 7-8 glasses of water and take both a multivitamin and a fish oil supplement. My diet isn’t great, but it’s decent. I drink 2-3 cans of diet coke a day and I don’t exercise.
The products I use on my face are….
Oil of Olay Total Effects anti-aging cleanser (2x per day)
Oil of Olay Total Effects anti-aging moisturizer (2x per day)
Clindamycin Phosphate (contains an antiboitic and I use it 1x per day)
Tretinoin cream (contains lots of Retin-A and I use it 1x at night).
I’m only 21. Do you think the oily skin is a direct result of using too many products with anti-aging properties? Ugh.
What should I do???? Why did my skin go from extremely dry to extremely oily? Help!
Stop using all those products. Wash your face and neck with a mild non-foaming hypoallergenic cleanser. Pat dry. Apply aloe vera gel all over face and neck. Do this once in the morning and once before you go to bed. The only other time to wash your face is if you have been sweating. Do not scrub your skin. Aloe vera is by far the best anti-aging thing you can do. Makeup, over-washing, and using too many products are all causes of outbreaks and other skin problems.
